The shotgun, one of the most effcient home defense tools available to any homeowner. But as with all things, you can only get the best from any firearm if you understand how and when to use it, and how it works. Our NRA qualified and highly experienced instructors will ensure on completion of your class, you know how to get the very best from your shotgun.

Shotgun 100

Introduction to Shotguns

Introduction to Shotguns is a 3-hour course designed to provide students with the basic instruction and understanding of the shotgun. The shotgun can be a great all around tool for not only fun target shooting, but also as a very effective defensive weapon for the home.

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Shotgun fundamentals

  • Shotgun manipulation

  • Ammunition selections

  • Automatic vs. pump style shotguns

  • Characteristics of various shotgun loads

  • Basic maintenance

  • Live fire practice

 

Class Prerequisites: None

 

Equipment and supplies required:

Semi-automatic or pump shotgun, 20 rounds of ammunition (birdshot recommended), eye and ear protection

Shotgun 200

Defensive Shotgun Skills

Defensive Shotgun follows on from the S100 class. The S200 class builds on the elements of the Introduction to Shotguns course and elevates the students’ understanding of this powerful device. When it comes to firepower and home defense it is hard to beat a well-trained individual with a strong understanding of the shotgun.

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Review of skills from Introduction to Shotguns

  • Basic shotgun reloading techniques

  • Shooting at stationary targets

  • Introduction to use of the shotgun in low light scenarios

  • Different defensive shooting positions

  • Proper ammunition selection for defensive shooting scenarios

 

Class Prerequisites:

Introduction to Shotguns

 

Equipment and supplies required:

Semi-automatic or pump shotgun

140 rounds of ammunition (120 Birdshot, 10 Buckshot, 10 Slugs)

Eye and ear protection

Attached weapon light (recommended but not required for Level 1)
